What is a Pediatric Dentist?
Pediatric dentists are primary care providers just like pediatricians. After completing four years of dental school, pediatric dentists complete an extra two years of specialty residency training. This extensive pediatric dental training includes: behavior management teachings, growth and development - from infancy to adolescence orthodontics, hospital dentistry and general anesthesia, in office conscious sedation, treating children with special needs, dental trama management, emergency management (Pediatric Advanced Life Support or PALS), pharmacology, preventive and restorative teachings.
